I randomly drew the initial idea for Swagg in my sketchbok one day. Later I used that idea for a small branding project, which eventually led into the full fledged type family. I wanted to make a sans with only horizonal or verticle ending terminals that is also friendly and unique. This can be seen best in the r, u, &, %, @ and many other characters.
